The New Zealand Association of Optometrists established the H.S. Gilberd Memorial Award in 1951.  It was created in memory of Napier-born optician, Mr H.S. Gilberd to recognise his lengthy and tireless services to optometry.

All department staff and students wish to congratulate Rob on the prestigious recognition that comes with the H.S. Gilberd Memorial Award.  His award was acknowledged at a recent Department Meeting.
